level 1-2: TODDLERS (15 months - up to 3.5 years)
Level 1-2 focuses on your child's healthy emotional development as their confidence, curiosity, self-control, and communication begin to grow. Instrument exploration nurtures their self-esteem and facilitates their discovery of textures and sounds. Language skills are fostered with singing, sound imitation, rhyming, finger games and object identification. Creative dancing to different musical “moods” develops their sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness, while affirming their urge to move. The anticipation and rewards of focused listening are introduced, and with turn-taking activities, social skills begin to blossom. Level 2 provides the framework for meaningful interaction between parent or caregiver and child. The activities encourage children to experiment while your active participation will give them the security they need.
Unit themes change montly, and your child can never repeat the same unit as they grow through our curriculum. Growth continues and deepens as you enjoy ongoing developmentally appropriate activties with your toddler. Classes are taught exclusively by licensed and accredited Kindermusik teachers, skilled in early childhood education.

FAQ: Should my older baby take Foundations or Toddler level classes? Toddler level classes are best enjoyed by mobile babies who have dropped their morning nap, who can respond verbally or nonverbally to simple one or two-step directions, and who are sturdy enough walkers that an accidental bump from an older and faster toddler would not likely injure them. This is why we typically recommend beginning Level 1-2 around 15-16 months old. Questions? Please reach out to us!
FAQ: Should my older toddler take Level 1-2 (toddler) classes, or Level 3-4 (preschool classes)? Preschool classes involve more communication, bodily control and autonomy, and perosonal choice than toddler classes. Children should be able to answer simple questions, indicate preferences, follow simple directions, and show the beginnings of imaginative/creative (not just literal/concrete) play. Questions? Please reach out to us!
